The building (the bricks and mortar) can be owned by a non-Thai national outright in their name in what is called the house registry which secures ownership indefinitely of the structure.

Great place for vacation and urban escape
We had plans to go to Pattaya for a long holiday. It isn't easy to find accommodation as our family has 12 members. We stay in 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, which is quite spacious, and enough for all of us. The villa is equipped with every appliance, including a TV, a refrig...erator, a microwave, and utensils. We bought ingredients from a nearby market to make the bbq by the pool. While we enjoyed eating, the kids also enjoyed swimming. It was such a good time as the village is quiet and private. The staff here is friendly and informative. They recommended many must-see attractions such as the Underwater World, Floating Market, and Mimosa market, which is not far from where we stayed. I would say it was a good trip. I have no regret of staying here, as it's a good place at a reasonable price. Also, it's not far from BKK, just only a 2 hours driving.
